Light Music

Light Music is made up of a variety of aspects that have come to be related over time. Broadly romantic themes fit for the main title, cheerful pizzicato and string fantasias, witty novelty pieces, tuneful marches, and jazz-influenced complex arrangements are all examples of light music. It is less serious than classical music and it doesn’t have strict rules and regulations.

Light music is less traditional and has no particular place of origin. This music, which is lightly based on Indian Classical, Folk, and some Fusion components, is an alternative to Indian Pop and Indian Cinema music.

Rabindra Sangeet, Sugama Sangeeta, and other tracks for listening are examples of Indian light music. In Indian music, Rabindranath Tagore (Nobel laureate for literature, 1913) was a towering presence. He amassed a library of over 2,000 songs, today known as “Rabindra Sangeet,” whose style is influenced mostly by Hindustani classical, sub-classical, Carnatic, Western, Bauls, Bhatiyali, and various Indian folk songs. Many singers in West Bengal and Bangladesh make a living by performing Tagore’s musical masterpieces. Rabindra Sangeet is the national anthem of India and Bangladesh, respectively.
